"For anyone interested in a working/show German Shepard Dog in Arkansas (or anywhere else for that matter!) von der Seele Kennels out of Clarksville are the people to talk to!!! Recently I purchased a male red-and-black GSD puppy, and I have never had the priveledge to own a more intelligent, learning-driven, family-friendly dog in my life. After driving for four hous to pick up our new addition to our family, we were greeted by the Hutcherson family and one of the most beautiful German Shepherd Dogs I've ever seen (the dam, "Pink.") On their sprawling country property we were welcomed with friendliness and charm, introduced to the whole family, and familiarized with our "Anton's" dam, older sister, and brothers and sisters from his litter. All of our questions were answered thoroughly and patiently, from diet and training techniques to bloodlines and innoculations. We were given hints on how to continue with the Shutzhund-style training the puppies have received since birth, was given ample opportunity to play with and "train" our new pup, and given a complete list of foods the dogs were tolerant of, full health records, and we received registration papers shortly after purchasing our dog. It was apparant from the start each and every one of these dogs is well loved, and will only be placed in an appropriate home for each animal. As far as once we got our pup home, it took a matter of two days to housebreak him, and he is already spot-on with his sit, lay-down, and heel commands (all given in German, of course!) Even our veterinarian was impressed with his health and similarity to the perfect "breed standard" German Shepherd, and anywhere he goes he is the center of attention. If you are looking for a lifetime companion, guard dog, search-and-rescue aide or showring champion, I couldn't recommend a better breeder- the bloodlines are immaculate, all the dogs are a piicture of health and nurture, and we couldn't be happier with our beautiful, spirited, smart and loveable GSD pup!"

Hip and Elbow Guarantee

In order to make amazing dogs available to most everyone we have lowered our prices. This in no way reflects our belief in our dogs' temperment, health, or ability. We will offer a hip/elbow guarantee to anyone who purchases a pup from us with the understanding that we cannot offer it at the prices listed. It is just simply not possible to maintain the quality of care we provide and offer prices that we offer and still provide a hip/elbow guarantee.

We have a pup, Genofeva von der Sauk, from a previous litter between Monte and Pink. We had her hips x-rayed for preliminary measures. The sockets look very nice and balls of the joint are beautifully round. We will be sending the x-rays off for rating through the SV, in Germany.

For ease, I am going listing both prices, prices with and without guarantee. We are also willing to make payment arrangements. We are excited about our litter and are willing to work with serious people who realize that while our prices are lower than some, our quality is not. We will gladly work with anyone who is fair and reasonable; however, again, our quality is high and therefore the prices aren't what you see in most newspapers.

All of our pups come UTD on vaccinations, worming, and have been started on Heartworm preventative. We will gladly provide health certificates for those who would like one(only required for shipping to different states and by plane). For a health certificate, the animal is examined and checked for major abnormalities. Hernias are a common occurence and is sometimes impossible to prevent given the mother's nature to nurture her young. We took every possible step to prevent this from happening. Having said that, all of the pups on site now are hernia free. Also, the vet will listen to the pups heart and lungs to make sure they are clear. They check the ears for signs of infection and irritation and will examine the skin to make sure the pups are free from common pests(fleas, ticks, etc.).

The pups also go home with a sample of the food they have been on, to make their transition easier. They come with a complimentary rope tug, shot records, AKC registration application, information on the breed and breed standard, and how to care for your new pup.

Ana is a very active and focussed girl. She is all about tackling my pant leg and anything that acts as prey. She has a darker face which makes her appearance very memorable. Food drive is also insane. It is hard to get a descent picture of her b/c she never stops! She will be very protective and will also need a very active home! She will be an amazing worker- SAR, Agility, Schutzhund, as well as a great family pet for the right home- active!

Four weeks old today!!!!

What are the puppies up to right now? Well, they really weren't into the goat's milk. I tried, several times. So, they pretty much started out on a mixture of goat's milk, yogurt, and kibble- all blended very well. We are also doing some hamburger meat at noon. These pups do not mess around with food- AT ALL. It is very serious business. Two pups kind of dallied around catching on but now........they ALL fight to get to the food. They have been eating off of a plate right now and for 8 pups that doesn't leave a lot of room but they find a way in, over or under.

We began taking them out of the box last night to play in the front lawn. All of them very affectionate and very loud. They all have healthy lungs! Yay, they will have access to a lot of oxygen as they work throughout their lives.

Today, we are taking them out to play and socialize again. We began clipping their nails on day two and have kept this up weekly. We will start with a brush today and getting their ear used to being handled. These pups will not be failed in the socialization department- also good leverage in getting our children to behave!

Two weeks Three days

Eyes are open now and they are on the move. I fed Pink in the whelping box later on this same evening and the puppies were fighting over the bowl. None of them were brave enough to try a bite of the kibble but nothing was stopping them from trying out the milk. There wasn't much playing going on, let me tell you- these kids have FOOD drive!
